Building a Greater Anaocha: A Blueprint for Transformative Governance at the Grassroots reflects two years of leadership and service under Mayor Romanus Chukwuma Ibekwe.
It documents key achievements in water, healthcare, youth empowerment, skills development, sanitation, markets and community partnerships. Beyond projects, it examines the ideas, decisions, challenges and sacrifices that shaped the administration's approach to grassroots governance. The book situates the Greater Anaocha vision within the wider Solution Government of Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo. Overall, it is a reflection on leadership, accountability, citizenship and the possibilities of transforming governance from the grassroots.
“I must say that Romanus Ibekwe transformed the Local Government and brought considerable development compared with what was there before, without undermining or dismissing the work of those who came before him. That is important because development is not supposed to begin and end with one administration. I therefore believe he did well and is worthy of commendation. His experience is also a call to government at all levels to work hand in hand with ordinary people in developing the grassroots.”
